Can you tinker, reinvent, fix, or create something that turns up the efficiency and turns down the waste? Do it! Then, come back and show us how we can, too.
We are pleased to announce the top five winning projects voted by the community. Congratulations to our challenge winners who will be receiving a Nest Learning Thermostat and whose projects will be featured on GOOD starting Monday, July 7th. Check back to see how you can turn up the efficiency and turn down the waste. The five challenge winners are:
5,490,288,293,529,600ft²: That’s the surface area of your home planet. Whether your personal living space takes up 150 or 15,000 of those five quadrillion square feet, this gigantic rock surrounded by nitrogen and oxygen is home for the foreseeable future. Let’s make some home improvements.
GOOD and Nest are teaming up to find five ingenious hands-on solutions for energy efficient living. Everything you touch in your home uses energy, from the walls to the appliances to the windows to the attic. Can you tinker, reinvent, fix, or create something that turns up the efficiency and turns down the waste? Do it! Then, come back and show us how we can, too.
Together, we can take better care of our shared planetary home. Be inventive, keep it real, and keep it under $250, using materials you find at home or at the hardware store. Make it something anyone can do, and everyone should do. The best projects will feature prominently on GOOD. For submitting one of the winning ideas, you’ll win a Nest, to help your home take care of you.
To enter, just share how you made your home more efficient, and explain how others can do the same.
The winner will be chosen to the extent that she or he meets the following requirements:
